Wii Points = Currency for buying "virtual console" games, and later, other applications (those that have been released have been provided for free).
Wiimail = An inbox; friends can send you messages, Nintendo informs you of updates, and your Wii sends you a daily summary of gameplay.

It's alright. The slideshow is neat to watch the map ping with where the story was etc. Not sure that I'll be checking a lot of news on my Wii though.
