MY wife wants a 2nd car She wants range rover I suggested she get a toyota...

...sienna mini van witch should I get? we have 3 young kids
she does not work
money is not #1 concern but dont like to burn it either
she already has a lexis

You didn't even spell l-e-x-u-s correctly so I highly doubt she's got one.... its spelled with a U not an I .. genius.
 
I've had lots of cars. I have 4 driving teenagers. My non Toyota cars average $1700 / year in repairs once they're past 2 years old. Toyota cars, owned 3 for a total of almost 500,000 miles. Total repairs other than consumables like breaks and tires = $50 400,000 miles on 3 cars so far and $50 in repairs. Never had a problem getting any smoged, never got stuck or had to get towed. Nothing.

Great gas mileage, low pollution, no repairs.....nice
Not having to F around back and forth to the mechanic's, get towed or wonder WTF the 'check engine' light seems to come on every time I have to get it smoged.......Priceless
 
i think you should decide together. if money's not the #1 concern, and it's HER car, then let her have some input.

just remember, you may be the sole breadwinner of the family, but that doesn't make you the boss. a healthy relationship goes both ways. (i have no idea if that was how you were thinking and don't want to sound accusatory, just mentioning that.)

if there's nothing wrong with the range rover, maybe choose that. but don't make her drive a mini van if she doesn't like it. maybe find something that's better priced than the range rover or something, but a car she will still enjoy driving.

nobody wants to feel like she looks like a stay at home mom when she drives down the road... even if she is one.
