I created a marinade for my chicken just now. (I was originally going to cook it tonight, but decided to go to Quinznos instead, because I had a coupon!) Can I clean my chicken and let it marinade over night at this point or should I just marinade and cook it tomorrow night? Will it be ok sitting in my fridge thawed and marinating over night?

I know that when I cook it tomorrow, I can't cook it in the excess marinade that I use tonight (because of bacteria).... I will drain that off of course.

I'd go ahead with the marinade over night. It's not very large chicken, just a little guy. The bacteria is not to be worried about. The longer the marinade the fine the chicken is roasted. Come on, I'm 21, a male and don't cook. But I assure you that it will be great after the 2 or 3 hours of cooking it in the oven at some 350 degrees. I'd die to eat marinaded chicken. ha lol.

It'll taste more like the marinade if it is left over night, so be careful if your marinade has lots of any strong flavour, like garlic. If it doesn't have a tonne of garlic or other strong flavors then it should be fine.

Also, if you cook it to the proper temperature you could use the excess marinade to baste the chicken or something.

Yes, this is what refrigerators are for. Chicken will keep perfectly well for 24 hours or more (but don't leave it for a week and then try and cook it).

Bacteria will die when it is heated over boiling point for 10 minutes, so no worries there, either.
