wel...i sing prety okay
many of my friends admitted it and some even suggested that i goto american idol..lol
well, the problem is, my voice changes when im on a phone/mike
my person-to-person voice is kind of medium-ish toned, kinda in the middle of Tom Chaplin from Keane and Cove Reber from Saosin

but when im on-line, my voice becomes really deep and cracky

i know i cant do much about it, but i just want to know why.
anyone have any ideas?

thanks!

The voice you hear when talking or singing, is made up by the sound vibrations resonating in your bone structure, and only have to travel a few inches at best before you hear it. It has not developed its true resonance that is heard when the sound come from your mouth. It's kind of like ringing a bell with your hand around the bell. You feel it, and hear some of it but it is not until the bell can get the full resonance that it can make a pretty sound. The same is true to your voice.

The only way to get to understand and even like your true voice is to listen to recordings of it. I record every practice, and use the those recordings to fix problems and improve. Even after 9 years of doing this, I still have to get over the fact I sound weird when listening.

aah, put stones in your mouth and try to talk.
You are going through a "change of life" experience. Put your head in a toilet and try to gargle for about 1 minute, then rinse your mouth out and spit it down the tub drain Then gargle with salt water.
