my verizon is up in july but i got an early upgrade.... but it says im stuck til...

...2013? i signed a contract on july 10th of 2009. back in january (2011) i looked on my verizon.com and it says i was eligible for an early upgrade so i upgraded 2 of my 3 lines to smartphones ( facinate,droid 2) and i thought i could upgrade then and my contact would still be up in july of this year? but instead it says that my contract date on those two lines has now been pushed back until 1/25/13? am i stuck in now until 2013? if so how much would a terminaton fee be to get out of this?
 
They can't do that. You signed a 2 year contract, not a 4 year contract. You have to talk to them. What they're doing could be illegal.
 
anytime you receive and "early upgrade" on a phone and get discount pricing, your contract is extended for another 2 years. Had you waited until your contract was up in july, you would have gotten better upgrade discounts.

I think early term fees are 250? depends on the phone you get, i think.

ROFLdoctor is wrong. There is no way to upgrade a phone(and get a discount) without automatically extending your 2 year contract.

The only way to upgrade your phone without changing your contract would be to walkin and pay full retail price for the phone(usually around $500-$600).

Thats how VW works! They're all about making the money--thats what "early upgrades" are for! To lock you in before you can think about switching carriers.

I have a friend who has 2 phone lines with VW--the term fee would be 250, but she only pays $10 extra a month for the line so it's cheaper for her to keep the line and cancel it once the contract is up. CRAZY!!
