I am so irritated. I work at a small family business. My boss and his wife are me and my husbands best friends. Things have been going downhill considerably for the past year, the business is folding fast. My boss decided to have me and my coworker go do sales to drum up business, in the meantime complaining about we hardly have enough for payroll. The next week, a new guy is hired on salary making more than all of us. We are now expected to sit in the office and pretend to work. In the meantime, we have to take care of their 3 year old and their new rattwaller puppy. The dog is a pooping machine, we decided "hell no" and decided to just shut off our office and let them run wild. They just shut their doors and pretend their not there until the smell gets so bad they have to do something, complaining and bitching the whole time.
Me and my co-worker go into work today, and are bored the whole day. At 3am (2 hours before we are off), my bosses wife comes in and says what are you doing here? Ya'll were off today. It really ticked me off, nothing was ever said about being off. Are we entitled to be payed for holiday pay and being there?
Okay, I'm done for now....Thanks for letting me vent....does anyone know my legal rights about the pay?
