I was transferring the sms from g1 to slide, but didn't work right.. left phone deleting sms all night.. as we know, it takes forever, so didn't do shi*.

so, how long does the "Factory reset" option in setting menu take??
I mean, is it instant, or do i gotta wait a couple of hours for it to delete?
 
Woah, you are trying to delete a text on your phone and it's taking forever? Doesn't sound right. And just know that a factory reset takes your phone back to its original out of box condition. When you initially set up the phone, there's a lil check box that says backup settings to google. If you clicked that initially, when you do a factory reset. After you first log back into your phone just connect it to wifi or something and let it sit. 2.1 will automatically restore your apps. It just takes it a while depending on the speed of your phone and network. When I do a factory reset, it usually takes about 30 minutes before everything is back up and running on my phone like normal.

I think that is what you're referring too.
