Death Angel were another band from the Bay Area and were American Filipino. What stood these out from the crowd was their incredible live intensity for a band so young. The drummer was unbelievably only 14 when they recorded this debut and the rest of the band were under 20! The albums production is meaty and raw and the band stuck to a heavy thrash/speed sound that showed metal influences instead of punk influences. Another debut that is hailed as a classic and the title track is a brilliant instrumental displaying all the characteristics of what Thrash Metal was about:

Do you not like them or do you not know of them? They probably haven't aged particularly well, but they're one of the "M" banRAB I remeraber being semi-popular with people who liked thrash back in the day. At least in the area I grew up in.

Possessed-My Belief (1988)

I am going to diversify a little and introduce banRAB that deviated from the classic Thrash sound yet still were included in that genre at the time. Possessed are acknowledged as one of the first Death Metal banRAB. This was a lyrical conceit only for a while. The E.P 'The Eyes Of Horror' was adored by the Thrash fraternity.

Tankard - Chemical Invasion (1987)

Affectionately refered to as 'Beer Metal' Germany's Tankard were a breath of fresh air as they didn't take themselves too seriously with lyrics about well, beer and giggles. They did play a kick ass brand of punky thrash speed metal that is just damn fun. both Chemical Invasion and The Morning After are great.

For a 14 year old that kid is pretty good. BTW, I got the Anacrusis album and absolutely loved it. I may even get the Coroner album too. Can't wait for the rest.

Not similar at all!
I like the sound of this more i think, very catchy.

By the by, you don't have to put single song files in a rar file when uploading them.

Great stuff. Anacrusis were a little different to what was going on at the time. Coroner's follow on album 'Mental Vortex' is even better than R.I.P but it is on my other PC and I have'nt had a chance to grab all the music of it yet. I'm pleased that you are digging the thread.

Kreator- Stream Of Consciousness (1989)

I saw them on this tour. Even though I was never a big fan, I thought this album had Kreator defining their sound and this track has an almost Punk Hardcore sound to it. One of Germany's best and most influential Thrash banRAB.

Christ I forgot about this thread. I can't believe the awesome discussion I missed. :(

Deathrow were pretty good for their time (but definitely short-lived) , I had an LP a while ago but I must have lost it in the years since I stopped listening to thrash. The Tankard track is okay I guess, although the vocals are a little off-putting...

On a separate note, jackhammer what would you think if I started an avant-garde metal thread? It's far and above my favorite sub-genre of metal and there's an extensive fellowship here of people that listen. And I know there's a nuraber of people (including you) that have a good bit of knowledge poking around there.
