My ten year old 1999 Toyota Solara has 34,000 miles on it. How many more years...

...can it last? I want to have a very safe reliable car, this is critical to me. My concern is ..how many more years will I be able to consider the car to be safe and reliable--not because of high milage..but because of the car getting so old?

Our 2000 Solara was totaled in a head-on collision. The front end crumpled just like it should; airbags went off. My wife had a bruise from the seat belt. We went out and bought another new one, a 2001. I consider it a very safe car.

The only innovation that you might consider is that newer cars have side curtain airbags, Our 2005 Corolla does. At your current rate of use, you won't need to replace this car for 30 or more years. But if safety is your only concern, then now is the time to try to find a 2008 Solara since they aren't making them for 2009. I've considered it myself and will likely end up going to a Lexus in a few years if they have one with similar styling then. Two door models look great and we very rarely have had anyone use the back seat.

It depends on a lot of things. If you happen to live somewhere with little rain and snow, but enough moisture to avoid dry rot while maintaining your car according to spec then you should be fine. After 10 years you will most likely be looking at minor repairs such as belts or hoses. Nothing major. It won't happen all of a sudden either. Your mechanic should be able to warn you plenty in advance.

that low miles for 1999 toyota only 34,xxx u sure these are actual milesor tmu but toyota 2.2 engine last over 200,xxx miles
and v6 even more longer

its high time you discard the 10 years old technology purchase a new one it will give you more security and more reliable airbags n safety measures

also think of nature the new car will grizzle less CO2 emissions
