my T3 died

I am so in love with my T3. (And this from a person who thinks the word love is way overused! Go figure). I dropped it the other day. It seemed to working just fine up until last night. Now it is not working. It was on the cradle all night long and the Green light is on as if it is charging, but it simply will not turn on. This was an open box purchase from Palmone. So, I went to the web site to check out my options. After reviewing everything, I made a big decision. Apparently the T3 is no longer being sold as a new item, it is only an open box sale. Even with the 52 mb storage on the T3 I only had 10 mb free left on my T3 internal storage. I use my palm extensively for my work. I am self employed and I can write all of this off. So I opted to send in this dead T3 for the price of another year warranty and I ordered a T5. I should have it on Tuesday. Palmone told me that all the applications I am using now will work on the T5. I made the big jump and purchased a T5. Not bad for a girl who started with a little electronic organizer, graduated to a Palm VX and now playing with the big boys - so to speak. Reading everything here learning as I read, and helping here has really given me the confidence to feel good about this.

I'm sorry to hear about your broken T3. I've only had mine for a few months, and I don't want to lose it for anything. It indeed does look like Palm1 is discontinuing it, which is too bad. I'm sure e.g the T5 is a good PDA in its own right, but just that little thing that it's longer than the T3 (not much, but too much for my shirt pocket) makes me want to hold on to the T3. I'm even pondering if I should try to hunt out one of the remaining ones and buy as a spare, for my own money (the one I have was paid for as a gift by the company I work for).

I haven't had a T3 very long myself. And in fact, when I upgraded from a m515 I came here and asked which one I should consider. I have been relucant to upgrade each time, but with the actual upgrade I have learned that my relucancy was actually wasted energy. Now that I have come this far, I am actually looking forward it. I was surprised to hear that Palmone isn't going to make T3's anymore. I kow there are still T3's out there to buy, your idea of buying one for parts etc is not bad. I would check out Ebay if I were you.
