I don't know what happened I've had this car for over a year and today the steering wheel became really hard to turn and this light that says "service airbag" keeps coming on. What could it be?

its an 08. you have a warranty. bring it to the dealership.
anyways, sounds like a fuse or a sensor. most of the newer chevy cars use electric assist steering instead of 'power' steering (which runs off of a pump filled with fluid).
anyways, probably just a fuse...but its covered under warranty....put in any new stereo stuff l8ly? new cd deck? anything that would include you touching wires under the dash or hood?
