money? We are getting married right before he leaves. I will have to move out once he does leave because we will finally be married....but what I want to know is when the money starts coming in? I will need money for rent and all that good stuff. Does anyone know how all of that works? He keeps telling me he will start getting paid on day one, but I guess I just need some confirmation. ANY info on what to expect as far as money and basic and ait would be great! Thank you!
 
The Army pays on the 1st and 15th. Payroll will need a period of time to process and prepare his (and every other soldiers) paycheck. This means that he will be paid on the September 1st for the work that he does from the 1st-15th of August, and paid again on Sept 15th for the work he does from August 16-31st. The two week delay from his last work day to payday is a pain, but you will find most employers pay this way, it is because it's not possible to pay someone at 12:00am on the 1st for the work they did up to 11:59pm the night before....they have to have a processing period.
