taken to court for it? I feel that it is safer for my son to not visit his grandma because she is currently in a very depressed state and she is very angry over my son's father being sent to prison. I told her i would rather she not visit with my son because i'm not sure if her anger or serious depression will effect how she cares for my child. She now wants to take me to court for visitation. If I tell the judge my reasoning for not allowing her to babysit my son alone do you think i can at least get supervised visits if he has to visit with her?

I went through the same thing, kinda. She never took me to court. I refused to let my mother in-law see my son because she is unstable. She told me she was goning to take me to court. I personaly don't think a judge is going to MAKE a mother leave her child with someone she doesn't see fit. Any info you can get on her that would prove shes unfit would be your best bet. Don't let her scare you into dropping him off. If she wants to take you to court, let her. Chances are she wont. It's not easy dealing with people like this and if she starts harrassing you, call the cops. You need to go with your gut feeling. Best of luck to you!
