My son is 27 months old and is not talking. He says the odd word like "juice" "whos that" and a few animal names I have taught him but nothing else, not even Mummy or Daddy. The problem I have at the moment is that when he wants something he just takes my hand and leads me to what he wants and points. I have now taken to the few words I know he can say for instance like juice and when he points to it I ask him to tell me what it is before he has it. I thought if I try to do this and introduce new words like this every day he may learn a bit quicker BUT NO, he is having hideous paddys when I won't give it to him. My Mother said I should just give things to him but then surely I am hindering his development. Any thoughts. PS. He has been to see the health visitor and she has referred him to an Audiologist but I know that there is nothing wrong with his hearing, he knows exactly what we are saying to him!!!
