I am so very worried about my son for a couple of reasons.
He said that today he wasn't feeling very well at all, all day at school and had a headache most of the day. He says on the bus home about 10 minutes after being on the bus he says he was talking to the boy that sits in front of him and says he just passed out. He says he must have been passed out about 10-15 minutes because the next thing he says he remembers is waking up as the school bus is turning down our street to bring him home. Nothing like this has ever happened before.
Next, is I think he has asthma. He has been waking up with trouble breathing in the middle of the night and says he is awake for 30 minutes or so and has trouble going back to sleep. He also wheezes, especially he says when someone sprays aerosol spray. He says in one of his classes his teacher sprays aerosol air freshener and he tightens up and starts to wheeze. He also gets short of breath climbing the stairs at school and walking from the school bus just 2 blocks from home.
My son is 15 almost 16 years old. He is 5'10 and weighs about 210, he is overweight which accounts for some of the problem I'm sure.
But I'm almost scared to send him to school now. What if he has undiagnosed asthma and has a full scale asthma attack at school? What if he passes out again at school or on the way home? He says the breathing problems and wheezing during the day just started in the last couple of weeks and he's never passed out before.
I am going to make him a doctors appointment first thing tomorrow morning but I am so scared for him now!
Please help!
