...make an asp of himself? He has never been to a function of this scale before. The event might rattle him. He hasn't learn to use his knife and fork tongue very well yet and I am scared he might not viper his mouth properly.

LOL just give him a mouse- he'll swallow it down whole, the rest of the group will think its a new trend and follow along, when they do realize that they were stupid- then just get some dinomite and blow them up- Problem solved :)
