My friends liked it as well, and had a few tears rolling down their faces, and none of them had read the book

[sp]I thought the journal was cool, i think that shows that for such a long time Kate wanted and knew she was going to die, looked like she has been making that journal for ages - alot fo work went through that[/sp]

Many ppl were crying when i went to see it as well

PPl in front of me and the back of me and my friends

I think this movie has made about $14 million as of now

i'm so looking forward to this film! even though i kind of almost wasn't going to see it because of cameron, i'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt... nick's movies never really disappoint so, i'm sure this won't be any different

I am not surprised they all got close during filming, esp playing the roles they had to

I think some of them must of seen the trailer by now, if they havent then i guess they will be in for a surprise when they see the movie

Take some tissues with you, i am going to coz i think i am going to need it - i was in tears whilst reading the book, imagine how i will be seeing the movie

The premiere should be happening soon in US, not sure when though

I'd agree about what you said about Sara. I sympathised with her character in the book a lot more, understanding her actions better.

But then, they can focus a lot more on the characters in the book (like Jesse).

My local paper got it right when it said Sofia and Abigail were the stars of the film, they were both outstanding.

I was disappointed by the major change they made from the book, but I enjoyed the film a lot still (enjoyed is probably the wrong word, I needed ice cream and a happy flick on my return home). Made me all teary. The flashbacks didn't bug me at all, nor the music. I love "Feels Like Home" as a song though.

That is probably one of my favourite quotes from the book :D I  it.

I know right, the last chapter from Kate's point of view was so heartbreaking it made me cry

Ahh, that's a good point, I've gone back and done that now :D If you want to, just go to edit your post and place [ sp] before where you want to spoiler tag and [/ sp] at the end to hide it :D Just take out the spaces before the s

I definately can't see Elle as Anna. Abigail IMO will do much better justice to the role than Elle could have. Not bashing Elle but that's my opinion too. I just think that Abigail is the better actress and like you said, she will take it to a new level. I've never seen another child actress cry as believably as Abigail does. She's a talent. I'd be surprised if big movie offers don't come for her on the back of this movie. Even though she's already doing well :D

I could see Dakota as Kate, but I am glad that Sofia is playing her now. From the clips and trailers she seems to do an incredible job and I love seeing a young actress such as herself being so well spoken and mature. I think she'll do well out of this movie too and I for one can't wait to see what she does next.

Such a great book. Totally cried.

And the movie trailer already gets me weepy, so I know I'm going to be a mess.

Can't wait to see it! :blinkie:

I thought this was a very good movie. It was hard trying to cry quietly in a movie theatre although I think everone in there was crying...even the one man.

I am glad you liked it :)

I am seeing it tomorrow :D

Is anybody thinking of getting the soundtrack?

Thanks for those interviews :D Its so nice that Cameron was cooking for the girls. Seems like they got really close during filming.

Sofia must have amazing will power. Sounds like she was really dedicated to her role. I would have been eating junk food

Aww...that's sound nice :D I can't believe they've not read it :( Do they know the storyline?

I have already prebooked my tickets for the 27th :D I'm taking my sister and sister-in-law along to see it for a girly evening

In “My Sister’s Keeper,” Sara and Brian Fitzgerald’s life with their young son and their two-year-old daughter, Kate, is forever altered when they learn that Kate has leukemia. The parents’ only hope is to conceive another child, specifically intended to save Kate’s life. For some, such genetic engineering would raise both moral and ethical questions; for the Fitzgeralds, Sara in particular, there is no choice but to do whatever it takes to keep Kate alive. And what it takes…is Anna. Based on the bestselling book from Jodi Picoult, “My Sister’s Keeper” reveals surprising truths that challenge one’s perceptions of family love and loyalty and give new meaning to the definition of healing.

Directed by Nick Cassavetes (“The Notebook”), “My Sister’s Keeper” stars Cameron Diaz, Academy Award® nominee Abigail Breslin, Academy Award® nominee Alec Baldwin, Jason Patric, Sofia Vassilieva and two-time Academy Award® nominee Joan Cusack. The screenplay is by Jeremy Leven (“The Notebook”) and Nick Cassavetes, based on the novel by Jodi Picoult.

The film is produced by Mark Johnson, Chuck Pacheco and Scott L. Goldman. Diana Pokorny, Stephen Furst, Mendel Tropper, Toby Emmerich, Merideth Finn and Mark Kaufman are the executive producers, with Hillary Sherman and Steven Posen co-producing.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes multiple Academy Award® nominee director of photography Caleb Deschanel, production designer Jon Hutman, Academy Award®-winning editor Alan Heim, editor Jim Flynn, and costume designer Shay Cunliffe. The music is composed by Aaron Zigman.

New Line Cinema Presents, A Mark Johnson/Curmudgeon/Scott L. Goldman Production, A Nick Cassavetes Film, “My Sister’s Keeper.” Opening nationwide June 26, 2009, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures domestically and in select territories internationally.

“My Sister’s Keeper” has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for mature thematic content, some disturbing images, sensuality, language, and brief teen drinking.

I've just been to see the film and although they changed things from the book, I actually really enjoyed it in a weird kind of way.

It definately got a few tears out of me and although I've read reviews saying that the flashbacks are jumpy and confusing, I didn't actually feel that they were watching it.

In all honesty, I expected much more from Cameron Diaz' performance of Sara from the pre-release buzz, but for me her acting was good, nothing more. In the book I found myself sympathising with Sara's character, a mother who's been put in this awful situation and as a result has made some questionable but not altogether selfish choices. However, on more than one occasion I found myself not really liking Sara's character in the movie, whether because of Cameron's performance or the writing, I'm not sure.... I really hated the way that she treated Anna in the movie, I rarely felt that they were mother and daughter at all which was a shame.

For me, the film was made by the two young actresses, Sofia and Abigail. I cannot tell you how amazing they both were in this film, they completely carried it. I almost would have loved if the entire film had been based around their relationship. In separate scenes they were amazing but combined into scenes revolving around the Anna/Kate relationship they were incredible. In fact, I found myself getting more emotional in those than any of the other scenes.

I think die hard fans of the book will see the movie and be a little disappointed, however, I am judging the movie in it's own right and I really enjoyed it.

I would be surprised if big things do not come for Sofia and Abigail after this film, even the actor who played Jesse was very good. I think we'll be seeing more of him in the future.

P.S Cameron didn't shave her head as shooting of the scenes needed with it lasted one day so she wore a bald cap.
