One of my sisters (jennifer) called me and said she needed a loan for $1000 so they do not take her car. I can count on one hand the number of times Jennifer and I have talked. I find her cold as hell, and I have tried to get to know her but we just don't click. But when she called and asked for a loan she was so friendly. I told her I would think about it for 24 hours. Help me decide. I have the money but that was the cash I had set aside for a vacation during Christmas and I am not sure she will really pay me back.
But if I do not give her the money she will have her only car towed away. No one else in the family is working and are all in serious debt. I am the only person who can help her. She has no credit. What would you do? (Remember, they are going to tow her only car away and she and I have been very distant)
My husband says no, I should not give her the money. The fact that she is working and in such a financial jam now means she has not paid her debts to banks, etc in the past. If I give her the money then I am attempting to buy her love, how crazy is that? Also what would stop her from being in the same jam a month from now? Or maybe she will go back to being cold to me after the check is cashed and knows she can not use me any more.
