We open windows and that doesn't do that much. He knows that I hate the smell of it and jokes that he intentionally cooks it more often because he knows I hate it. (May or may not be true there)

Is it reasonable for me to ask him to stop cooking fish? Or to ask him to cook it outside? We have a backyard but no grill so he'd have to get a little grill or something. Is that reasonable for me to ask?

Any suggestions about removing the odor (typically salmon) are welcome too.

get some potpurri and add some baking powder and ground coffee...will take care of the smell....put a bwol or two of this mixture in each room

move out - or ask him to but he has a right to cook what he wants its his place too, right? pen windows use incense sticks leave the house - cook his fish early so the smell doesnt linger

Air freshener????My family also eats fish a lot too! so here waht you can do to make your clothes not stink put all your clothes in the closet in your room. If The kitchen smells stay in your room!

I don't really think there is much you can do. And it seems a little over the top to ask the poor guy to cook outside.
I think the best thing to do is have him cook with a window open, and clean up after himself. Generally once you have cleaned up the pan and the dishes used the majority of the cooking smells will be gone. And that will also involve taking out the rubbish if any fish scraps were put in the bin. Then I would follow up with an air freshener, I'm not just talking about the kind that smells nice, I mean a proper one which neutralizes odour, it may cost a few dollars more but they work more effectively. You could try brands such as oust or glen 20 (dont know if they sell those where you live).

I put vinegar in a small jar that has a cap on the kitchen counter. After I cook the fish, I open the jar and somehow the vinager is able to magically "get rid of the fish smell". Once I only smell vinegar I will just close the cap. Then the vinager smell disappears in a few minutes.
