My ride on the dragon.

Spent two days in Fontana last week and made several trips up and down the Tail. Needless to say it was lots of fun!! On our last day my wife decided to video our ride. The photographers on the Tail got some awesome photo's of us but I cannot post them until I purchse them.

Nice videos. Was the law around much? When I went in July when it first reopened the law was everywhere and you had to obey the speed limit pretty close. I noticed you were going way over 30mph LOL. Looked like you had alot of fun.
 
I couldn't agree with you more. But there are alot of other very nice roads in that area, some that are just as fun to ride as the Tail. We also rode the Cherohala Skyway and it was as much fun with some beautiful views of the mountains! The roads here in western Pennsylvania just plain suck, full of potholes and tarstrips that make windy roads very unsafe to say the least.
 
We pushed the envelope just a little . On wednesday we saw one Tennessee Trooper sitting along the roadside close to the NC boarder. Thursday we didnt see any Troopers in that area so I guess we were lucky. On one corner I had a black bear run across the road right in front of me just out of view of the camera .
 
I was there 2 weeks in July and the cops were all over the Dragon, I like the Skyway much better, we've been going up there for 15 years and there are a lot of roads better with less traffic than Hwy 129 but I still love it for the sights you will see, there are bikes all over that area and I love to people watch, when I was there I got to see a guy on a Star and flip flops doing the Dragon, always makes me laugh
 
I rode the dragon last month, was my first time and as much fun as it was...NEVER ride on a nice weekend!!!! Best I got was 25mph. We had no choice but to ride on a Sunday because we were leaving the area. Nice Video's and glad you had a good time
 
Nice videos. I was just up there at the tail this past Monday. Had a Tenn LEO sitting right in front of Deals Gap getting his lunch. Took 28 all the way back to Franklin, NC and it was a good ride. Came over from the Skyway and up 129.
