my remote wire turns on my equalizer but not my amps.....?

i spliced the remote wire to turn on my EQ which is in the front and also my amps in the trunk. when i turn the radio on the EQ turns on but the amps do not. I checked my wires and they are working and i checked the power as well. I tried crossing the power wire with the remote on the amp and it would come on then but not with the remote wire. is there something i am missing? also, does the remote wire run at 12v?
 
there is a loose connection somewhere along the line from the splice to the amp. check and do it again. there is no reason for the EQ to turn on and no the amp.
 
You might need a completely separate switch for your amp. I had the same problem and just installed an on/of switch from the power wire for my amp. I'm not sure of the voltage but it might not be giving off enough
to power both. =)
