My ps3 problem I just had V. Hdmi vs AVcables

Here is the deal I pluged my ps3 stright to HDMI and got it all set up. However now I took it to a buddies house and low and behold the av cables did not work for shit on his tv and we got no signal. His wii worked in the same av port so it wasn't his tv. Its the first time I used the AV cables but my only guess is that the system is set to only be used on HDMI when I set it up and I have to go back to my tv and hdmi cable to manualy change it to use AV cables. Anyone else think this might be the problem?

its still set for HDMI, you will have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds with it powered off to reset the video config to default which is standard composite cables.

I had the same problem when I took it to my dads and connected via composite (I use component at home).

To fix it, just hold down the power button and it will auto configure itself.
