I purchased a car on finance. The company ceased trading. I never discussed PPI with them. However the lender put PPI on the finance agreement. At the time I was without a car and transport was costing me a fortune. I was told to sign the agreement and return it as soon as I could. This I did. Stupidly on my part I also signed for the PPI. I wasn't aware that I had but when sorting out papers I found that I had indeed signed for it. The box was ticked by a computer not by hand. I am told now that as the company had gone my claim was against them not the finance company. I don't know what they do in this situation. I refer to what the finance company give to the seller. I am now told that my claim has to go to the Financial Ombudsman. I am curious how much I might get if anything. I should have received 3,400. Now however I am not confident of getting a penny back. Has anyone else had a similar situation regarding PPI?
