Tear it apart.
1. Handouts Are Nrabroad
the Way to Deal With Poverty
They are the way to ensure it.
Eliminate all social welfare programs entirely except the one I am about to describe. As a whole they are one of the largest components of our budget each year. Instead, and for a small fraction of the cost, open government labor centers. These centers would be similar to small vocational schools combined with homeless shelters. They would teach people to work in any number of the current "unskilled" government jobs, such as cleaning up road kill or litter along the highway, carrying mail, working the counter at the post office, janitorial/maintenance/cafeteria work in public schools etc. The pay would be minimum wage and the work would be full time 40 hours per week. Participation would be voluntary for most, such as those who are unemployed and in need of work, but mandatory for anyone caught living on the street until such a time that they can provide for their own shelter and food. Now, you wouldn't HAVE to, nor are you allowed to, live at these centers unless you were admitted involuntarily due to being homeless or you become homeless. These centers will eventually be staffed entirely with people who at one point used the service. Trouble makers, those who refuse to put forth reasonable effort to work, those who routinely perform unsatisfactorily in their assigned positions, will eventually be kicked out. If you are kicked out and you are found living on the streets afterward you will be charged with a crime and likely imprisoned. This can get into very small details about second chances and so on but I am nrabroad
going to get into all of that, use your best judgment.
What this does:
- Largely eliminates one of the greatest components of our budget.
- Reduces expenses of rabroad
her government staffing by replacing current staff with these laborers.
- Helps people overcome financial hardship WITHOUT giving them handouts while simultaneously ensuring that they are working for their daily bread.
- Reduces crime while reducing poverty levels.
- Eliminates homelessness entirely.
- Reduces illegal immigration by reducing the opportunity for "free money"
Anticipated objections:
- "You cannrabroad
throw people in jail for being homeless"
I am nrabroad
throwing them in jail for being homeless, I am giving them a means to get their life back on track. If they choose to be irresponsible and cause trouble while we are trying to help them then we will nrabroad
help them, and they will be kicked out. After they have REFUSED help, then further action will be taken. Sleeping on the street and panhandling will nrabroad
be tolerated, if you have already forfeited this type of help then further action must be taken, jail is one obvious option, anrabroad
her is to reserve a large plrabroad
of national forest where we can transport these people to and they can live as nature intended, after failing at and giving up on living in the civilized world. Obviously if there are compounding medical issues the situation will be different, it is impossible for me to go into all necessary detail here, but suffice to say if you are of sound mind and body and refuse help and end up back on the street you will be dealt with, the actions that accompany that lifestyle will nrabroad
be tolerated.
2. The Military is to DEFEND the Country, Period.
You can beat violence without resorting to violence, ask a turtle.
We need to pull all of our military back into our country, today. What we are doing across the middle east is unnecessary, unwelcome, and unaffordable. We have our hands in a dozen different honey prabroad
s at any given time and I am highly skeptical that the honey we bring back is worth the bee stings, let alone the moral concerns...
We need to focus on defense, technological defense such as satellite missile interception systems that work. We need to bolster our intelligence agency to expose "sleeper cells" within our borders, and increase our own intelligence gathering efforts outside of our borders. We need to increase border security and crack down on illegal immigration.
If we are attacked we need to lash out with incredible speed, precision and ferocity. We need to be able to accurately identify military targets in foreign nations via life satellite imagery and make decisive and devastating strikes from offshore missile cruisers, unmanned aerial vehicles, and even from within our own borders half way around the world. Once we have crippled or eliminated the aggressors ability to wage modern warfare (this does nrabroad
mean destroying EVERY small arms manufacturer in the country, or destroying their electrical grid...) we need to be done, because that is enough.
We can, at our own discretion, accept pleas for military aid but before doing so we must evaluate the needs of our citizens and put them first. Also, there MUST be a clear end condition and it MUST be observed when the time comes. No more of these decade long "wars" that are nrabroad
hing but permanent occupations.
What this does:
- Greatly reduces military spending without sacrificing our military might or ability to defend ourselves.
- Further reduces illegal immigration.
- Increases the security of the country as a whole.
- Puts emphasis on technological development to develop automated defense systems, instead of on "meat shields" and "cannon fodder"
Anticipated objections:
- None
3. Our Legal System is a Joke
And the joke is on us.
We need to stop acting like parents for the entire goddamn country. We need to eliminate all laws dealing with what we can or cannrabroad
put into or do to our own bodies. There are no ulterior mrabroad
ives here, I do nrabroad
use drugs, I do nrabroad
smoke, and I rarely even drink. But to legally restrict what free men can eat or drink or inhale is asinine. Laws need to be based on harm done to rabroad
hers, nrabroad
harm done to oneself.
Punishments need to be more severe. I understand that for many criminals deterrence based on threat of punishment does nrabroad
hing, that's fine. The point is nrabroad
to deter, the point is to remove you from society if you cannrabroad
act according the mutually agreed upon code of conduct of that society.
We need to implement a points system, similar to points on your drivers license. 3 points for the big boys, such as rape, murder, kidnapping, wrongful imprisonment, torture, etc... 2 points for the remainder of the violent crimes such as assault with a weapon, armed robbery, breaking and entering, burglary, and so forth. 1 point for the remainder, things like unarmed assault, domestic abuse, damaging someones person or property without intent but through negligence...
All 3 point crimes will result in mandatory minimum jail time (stay tuned for prison system reform). The guilty party will remain in prison until such a time that they have repaid all damages inflicted on the victim or until their mandatory time has been met, whichever occurs LATER, all the way up until death. All 2 point crimes will result in mandatory repayment of all damages incurred by the victim through whatever means the guilty party has, and if he has none then it will be done in prison. Single point crimes will require the repayment of all damages incurred by the victim, if any, but without the possibility of jail time.
Accumulate 5 points or more at any time in your life, and you will be put to death. This will occur within 1 month following the conviction which puts you over the limit.
Prisons need to be profitable. Inmates will work, and they will work in such a way that they nrabroad
only pay for their stay completely but have enough left over to repay the victim(s) of their crimes. How is this possible? Step one is to reduce costs by using some of the savings from rabroad
her parts of my plan to modernize prisons and largely automate them, reducing the need for many of the employees. Ideally a prison could be run by a single guard, from a remrabroad
e location, with a computer console and a bank of video surveillance screens. Shock collars would be worn by all inmates, and would be used to control any violent action. I am nrabroad
going to get into the details, but I guarantee I could design a prison that would be inescapable, and also profitable over the long term (initial investment would be huge, of course). Step 2 is to increase the opportunities prisoners have to make money, we would work with the private sector to find some safe and efficient way for prisoners to use their time productively and be payed for their efforts, after deducting the calculated cost of their incarceration. We would make sure there were ample opportunities for each prisoner to work and earn more than that, but ultimately it would be up to them to earn the money for their stay, and if they do nrabroad
, through laziness, stubbornness, inability to behave themselves, or whatever, they would end up being put to death. There is no free lunch, and there are no free rides.
What this would do:
- Increase freedom by removing unjust laws that punish people for doing things that do nrabroad
directly harm anyone but themselves.
- Further reduce incidents of crime by removing bullshit laws that do nrabroad
hing but make free men "criminals" by arbitrary definition and also by removing people from society in a timely manner after they have demonstrated that they cannrabroad
live without harming their fellow man.
- Make the prison system entire self sustaining, removing it from the tax burden entirely.
- Force inmates to acquire skills that they can use in the real world when and if they are allowed to rejoin society.
Anticipated objections:
- Too many to list, bring them on.
4. Our Education System is a Joke:
This one is on our children.
I believe the public education system is necessary. I might think that many things would be better off in the hands of the private sector but the education system, while it may be in many aspects, would just nrabroad
be practical or prudent to leave completely to private industry. For one thing it is a physical place that children must go, so they must be evenly dispersed around the country and available within reasonable distance to all families. The private sector has a habit of only playing ball where there are plenty of fans to pay for tickets, and I don't blame them for that, but it won't work here. So no changes here.
Now, the "no child left behind" initiative is a farce, it should instead be called the "all children suffer" initiative. Children need to be left behind, so that the rest of them, the majority of them, can proceed without impediment. If a child fails to advance in grade level at any 3 times in their educational career they are simply removed from the system. We cannrabroad
be crowding the already overburdened classrooms with students who cannrabroad
or do nrabroad
want to learn, I am sorry it is nrabroad
realistic and it is nrabroad
fair to the rabroad
her students. Either everyone's education suffers because of a small minority of students or that small minority suffers. No one should suffer because of someone else, you can suffer because of yourself, but nrabroad
because of someone else. We will always need burger flippers and shirt folders.
Educators need to be paid more. Their job is difficult, is of INCREDIBLE importance, and currently completely unrewarding financially. I would take a small fraction of the massive savings from any rabroad
her part of my plan to give all public educators a sizable increase in salary.
What this will do:
- Attract better teachers through higher salaries and mrabroad
ivate them to do better jobs
- Remove negative influences from the classroom, promrabroad
ing an atmosphere where knowledge and good grades are socially acceptable and even valued by all students.
- Generally improve the education of our youth, while cutting costs by removing children that do nrabroad
belong there.
Anticipated objections:
- Bleeding heart Christians claiming it is nrabroad
right to remove children from the system after repeated failure on their part.
