My passenger door won't open on my 1999 Ford Explorer. How can I get it to open?

The inside or outside handle won't work to open the door. The outside handle had been having problems for quite some time, but the inside handle just stopped working tonight. Someone may have tried to open the door while it was locked. How can I fix this? Thanks a lot!
 
i had a 98 with the same problem you need to take the door panel off theres 2 metal rods one for your lock and the other for your door handle there are some connectors that keep the rods on the door handle they could of broken and came off. so look for anything thats hanging or broken or thats looks like it need to be hook up. oh you can pull on the rod to get your door to open.
 
the only way i know is take the inside panel off and check the inside latch. it could be the rod is off or bent. after you get the door open then you can see what,s wrong with the outside latch.
