MY PARENTS THINK MARTIAL ARTS IS VIOLENT!!!HELP?

what should i tell them to convince them its not violence. ive been wanting to do taekwon do for a while.
i tell them i need to defend myself but they dont take me seriously.
good so far but i already tryed all that.
 
explain to them that it's not for violent purposes, and that you want to just learn it for the cause.
If you're going to learn for violent purposes, give up, you're breaking your code.
But if you are serious about it, and ask them, and help pay for it yourself, i bet your parents will give in :D

Have parents take you to a class and watch. Most places allow you see what they are doing. They need you to show them what you want to do. A lot of places have family rates and classes. If you convince one you have a friend and partner. Good luck
