My painted turtle wont open his eyes or eat.?
Well my western painted turtle is a baby. When i first got him he was eating and swimming fine. Today he didn't eat at all. But yesterday he took some bites into a krill. All he does now is Stay in the same position with his eyes closed. He swims with his eyes closed too. He doesn't have swollen eyes or any thing. I had a sick map turtle in there but he past away. He had the respiratory infection. But my painted turtle is not showing any of those symptoms. My other painted turtle is eating and swimming fine. My water temp is a little low. I have a water heater. But it only heats up to 72. Right now it is 68 but it will get warmer to 72. This temp is only for right now. I will move him up stairs when i turn on the heat so it will be a lot better. Is it cause its too cold. But my other painted turtles is doing fine.I do have a 75 watt zoo med basking light. I think it might be a eye infection and if it is how do i treat it? And do i need to separate it? But i don't have a extra heater so how will i be able to heat up the tank with my sick turtle? How do i treat it for now till i get medication if i need it. Thank you
Ok i did not paint him. Thats his name. They call him that because he looks like someone painted on him but they din't.
