My paint smells REALLY bad! HELP ME PLEASE?

I'm decorating my daughters bedroom and I have some white paint (not gloss) for the ceilings etc.
I've had it a while and the lid was clipped on properly, but I open it and it STINKS. It also has yellow bits floating on top, a bit like how melted butter would look like on cold milk.
I've stirred it loads and although it's no longer a weird colour and the smell isn't AS bad as it was, the paint it now VERY THIN.
WHY?
It is like painting with watercolours, it's dripping everywhere and I've painted the skirting boards (no undercoat so I'm using white).
Is this bad?

Shall I chuck it or can it be saved?
