Your inferred sensor has gone bad. This happens do to weather and u.v "Sun" exposure. It is often times cheaper to just replace the whole light unit.

Normal operation for most PIR lights:
The light will stay On for about 5 minutes after the power has been switched off for at least a minute and then on again. You just have to wait for this time for the device to calibrate itself.
If you switch the power Off/On quickly then they tend to stay switched on untill the power is turned off again.

If it is not behaving normally:
Look for two adjusters on the unit. One of these sets the duration for the light to be On when the sensor is triggered.
The other sets the sensitivity of the sensor. This one is used so that the thing can tell when the ambient daylight has reduced to the level when the light will be needed.

It seems as though your sensitivity setting has been maladjusted. Turn the power Off, set the adjuster to the mid way position during daylight hours and power On. Wait for 5 minutes and see if the light goes out. If it doesn't then try moving the adjuster towards one side and try again. If that doesn't work move it to the other side and repeat. It's a tedious operation but worth doing because it will save you the cost and effort of replacing it.

If you cannot get it to perform properly after all that then you must spend the money and replace it.

II know this sounds like a basic answer but its a bad sensor. You
can purchase just the sensor at any home improvement store

what type of bulbs do you have in ??
Nothing should stay on if the switch is off
