my only real frustration with the iphone

is the chrome bezel. The rest of the phone is very well made and the software is superb. Even the touch screen is tough.

But the bezel- why would they make it out of a soft metal that not only scratches easily, but is also in a place where cases can't really protect it?

my paranoid guess is that it makes sense to have a part of the phone that will show its age- so it loses its beauty and motivates people to buy new. They could have easily made it out of brushed aluminum and I wouldn't have to treat the phone like an infant
 
I have the black rubber incase case for mine. And the dust/dirt that gets into my pocket has scratched that crome bezel. I probably should take the phone out of my pocket while working on sprinkler systems
 
i have the same case. dirt gets under the case - then i have to take the case off to put it in the dock (to play it in my car). taking the case off scratches it.
