My olympus u700 digicam shows images of old photos when on pc thumb view, please help.?

When I connect my olympus u700 7.1mp digicam to the computer and I go into the folder on thumb view mode there are images of old pictures on there which is different from the new pics I just took. I do not understand why it is doing that, I reformatted the camera, erased all the pics, deleted the folder...and still when I take new pics the thumb view shows the exact old images again and again. what can I do?
