You can take both phones to a store and they can transfer your contacts for you. They can also activate the new phone. But you can do it yourself too, just by calling (from the new one) *228/choose option 3. It will ask you to verify your act and then it will activate. Its really easy.

Make sure your old phone is powered off when you do this.
 
new phone and switch? I had a Verizon phone, i dropped it in a parking lot and it got rained on and run over. I already have a new phone (the same one, just not broken), and I need to know how to activate the new phone so that I can use it to text and call people. Because right now it's basically useless.

Also, once you tell me how to do this, is there any way to transfer all of my contacts from my old phone to my new one? If it helps at all, the phone still charges and works, the screen is just broken so I can't see anything.

Last, is the any way to transfer (locked) texts from my new phone to my old one? I had very, very important texts on there that I can not lose.
