My nokia 5800 still says the software version is v20.0.012?

and everytime i check for an update, it says there are none available!
should i take it into the nokia or carphone warehouse and see if they can get it updated?
cause i would really love all the features on the v40 or v50!
sooo what do i doooo? :)
i live in newcastle under lyme in england of that helpss
