My new puppy randomly whines...?

I recently adopted a 7 week old Rottweiler puppy. Today he began to whine randomly. I took him out but he didnt need to go 'potty' and we were giving him attention. What may be causing him to whine? Is there something I am not thinking of?
Note: Earlier today we took him to get his first vaccinations and de-worming. Could that contribute to it?
 
He might just be missing his mother. If you have a towel with her scent on it (like the breeder rubbed it on her), try letting him play with it.
 
All puppies whine. They have been seperated from their mother and siblings.

The vaccines and de worming are hard on puppies, just like a medical procedure is hard on people.
 
Yes, he could be sore and uncomfortable from the shots and the whole experience. He's still young and not used to vet visits. The vaccinations can make them very uncomfortable. If he acts that way tomorrow too, dont be surprised.
If symptoms get worse, contact the vet as he might be reacting to one of the vaccinations.
My mini Schnauzer swells up at the sight of his rabies vaccination and is very uncomfortable. Our Standard Sch. just lays around and acts like she just doesnt feel good at all that same evening and at least half of the next day.
 
he may be having a reaction to his shots.. watch him closely and check for soreness at the injection site.
