i just got a new kicker zx750.1 amplifier and it always goes into protection when i turn the music up to 50%. i checked the amp when it cuts out and its not even warm and the 3 settings gain, bass boost and cross over control on the face of the amp are not set very high. Gain is at half, bass boost is at 0 and the cross over is at about half as well. On my Alpine 9884 head unit i have my subwoofer setting all the way up but my bass at 0. in the manual it says i need a 80 amp fuse on the power wire but all i have on it is a 40 amp could this be the problem for it going into protection mode.
