I rear ended a civic 2009 in a rail guard in a pretty fast speed it shrunk my whole trunk the problem was that my airbags on the left side of the car deployed reasons i dont know why, But my front airbag did not so with the impact the seat belt broke my collar bone what im wondering is if all the impact got my side to deploy so why didnt my front one deploy couldve saved my injury.

You may have hit the rail guard at an angle so the sensors to activate your airbag might not have deployed, that's my theory anyway.

I would recommend looking in the manual because it should tell you what scenarios will and will not activate the airbags.

TO KB: No he rear ended his 2009 Honda Civic into a rail guard. But I suppose he could've phrased the question a little better.

Simple, it was not a forward impact.

As you were reversing, if the front airbag inflated, you would have had major whiplash as an addition + a concussion.

Erm.....how did you manage to crash the car that way? J-turns are not that hard........................
