...cuddles during the day.? I had a huge cat tree built for my 2 cats (other is a 4-yr-old fixed male) and they both spend a lot of time on it. But Bob will follow me into the kitchen and start whining. He has food and water, I pet him yet he won't stop. It makes me scream at times. Or he comes into my studio when I'm working and wants attention - I have a life and can't spend my rare free time entirely on him. What to do?
I had a cat who died in May who talked - this is something entirely different. This is a high pitched meow that splits my head apart. I respond he keeps it up. The only way to stop it is to pick him up, but then I can't do anything. My life can't revolve around him!

He's not whining, he's holding a conversation with you! Cats with Siamese in their genes are big talkers, and some never let up. Ragdolls, black cats, and many others have enough Siamese to be chatters. I have a big fat tabby that loves to talk to me, and she gets quite insistent if I don't respond. When I finally do respond, she smiles ( her lips stretch back and her eyes squint). Sometimes she makes a sound that sounds like "yep." Its pretty funny.

If you talk back to your cat it will please him greatly. Just think of his comments as questions, and answer with things that would fit what you think he might be thinking. My cat loves to get me to open the back door, and then, if it is raining, she comments on that and looks up at me to hear what I have to say. I suspect she thinks I can change it, so I tell her "sorry, out of my hands."

I know this all sounds silly, but I not only have a happier cat for it, but my parrot finds it amusing as well. Also be content with the fact that cats generally talk mostly ( or only) to the people they really like.

You could have worse problems :-).

BTW, if you ever WANT a cat to talk to you, talk to them. Many will start.

Ha ha, I've experienced this before. The main thing to do though is.........

Ignore him.

Not in a rude way tho, when you see him, pet him and say hi. Don't do it constantly or else he'll keep coming for more. He's lusting for attention, and you're giving it to him...
Limit the time with him... in about a week or 2 he should back off a little and realize that you have a life also.

And the other thing is like, when he is asking for attention, give him some and then take him outside. And you inside.

Well Good luck!
