...garden. Is this a problem? I live down hill from my neighbour and they recently buried a fridge and a freezer in their garden. I presume this is because they didnt want to pay for it to be collected.
I do not want to speak to them about it as I will get the council to contact them and I wouldnt want them to know it was me who told them.

Could the freon gasses effect my garden or health?
 
Theres a reason why thats illegal. I dont know how dangerous it is, but i would have an issue with a neighbor who did that. Suggest that they dig it up and dispose of it properly before they end up getting caught and paying a big fine.
 
The amount of refrigerant in a standard household refrigerator is quite low and, unless inhaled directly, will cause you no damage.

(Caution: NEVER inhald any refrigerant directly. In addition to displacing oxygen, some have toxic qualities while others can sensitize your heart to adrenalin and result in death)
