My Motorola XT5 Android won't update?

Hey all!

So i have a Motorola XT5 mobile phone (android)

Firmware wont update. in the about phone section it says
Firmware Version:
2.1-update1

But i dont know what that means theres no option anywhere to update the android os thing, my mates all have like 2.2 or 2.3 "

is it my phone or? does anyone know

my Android Market wont also update

Baseband version: PR1

Kernel version: Apps_2.6.29
not sure if that wil help)
 
There is no 2.2 update available for your phone officially
You will need to root your phone for upgrading it further

New android market is available only from android 2.2 hence it will not update in 2.1 version
