my motorola flipout isnt connecting to google accounts?

its android obviously, and to connect to the market, you need to make a google account, when i create it....it waits a minute then says 'there is a proble connecting to google servers...try again later'

i dont know what to do?

it connects to the web browser ok, just not google account.
