Just Do Not Get It

Ive had it now, how do I handle it. my husband and I have one child ( he is my husbands step son, my biological) and 3 grandkids. my husbands brother has 1 adopted child and his sister 2 adopted children. My brotherinlaws and sistersinlaws have never given my son, for 18 years a gift, and they do not give my grandkids gifts. But when my brother in laws daughter just graduated we were called and asked what we sent her for her graduation and my husband said nothing, they have never sent my son anything ever,even when his kids were born. And now we are the bad people of the family. My sister in law beleives in having opionions and discussing them but when you challenge her and you dont share her opionion even though she tells everyone its ok to have one, she tells everyone she hates you. I think they all have double standards and even though we helped out my inlaws, they seem to love all the kids better than my husband who is their own son. I dont understand how to deal with them.
