oh my...I know..I saw my father die..3long painful years of watching him die slowly n bit by bit going away.. he stayed home for 3days with a broken leg becouse he knew that when he goes to the hospital now it's gonna be the last time he will ever go there..and he won't come home either.. so well he got cancer first in his throat, then liver and then in the lungs..he would of never survived

Well, I am here to say that my mom may be comming home from the hospital Monday. I still don't know all the details yet, the last thing I heard was that the cancer had eaten a hole in her bile duct(a part of her stomach where all the acids are). They had given her a tube that went from her nose to her stomach to vacum out the acid fluids flowing out of the hole. A few days after that, they had taken the tube out. She was still not allowed to eat anything, all she could have to keep her mouth from not drying out was ice chips. Yesterday, they let her have liquid stuff like chicken broth, jello, and pudden. Today, they let her eat a sandwich. She was craving a burger but she cannot have anything heavy or greasy like that. She is also not allowed to have any kind of carbinated drinks, because it will burn her stomach. I still don't know what is going on with her stomach as far as the hole is concerned. They have to take more x-rays on that to figure it out. The only problem with that is they cannot operate on her anyway no matter how big the whole is, because of the condition she is in.
In all of what I am saying, is that she maybe comming home, but she is not healthy and may pass away in the confort of her own home with the family she loves. That is all the doctors can do for us and her.

Pancreatic Cancer is one of the rarest cancers I hear. it only attacks 1 in 500 thousand people under age 50.
its really sad she has it. I hope she pulls through. Ill pray for your mom. thats messed up. How old is she btw? I should lay off the alcohol. I was told it is caused by smoking. My brother had pacreatitis and had most of his pancrease taken out. He had triglycerides of 7800 which is almost unheard of. It was one for the medical books.
He is a diabetic now. Is it possible that they can just remove the cancer in the part of the pancrease? Its too bad the pancrease cant be taken out entirely. People can not live without it. And I understand its the only organ besides a brain that cant be transplaneted.

Guess what, I was wrong. You can live without a pancrease. Sorry. Maybe your mom should just have it removed and take insulin shots. I am reading up on it now.

More info. I dont think Alcohol is connected to pacreatic cancer. Smokers and people with diabetis are more likely. And again.. it clearly says almost all people over 50 get it. Black American Males get it the most.
The comedian Bill Hicks (Though his was found too late) died from it at age 36. Very very rare but his father had it and that raised his odds.

my dad died of stomach cancer when I was 6, right in front of me. best of luck to you and your mother. I'm with you
