My mom won't take me to get my hair cut by a professional- kinky curly hair?

She says she can cut it herself- she already has, but she didn't do it right! I wanted layers but she didn't do it right. I wanted to get a twist cut but she doesn't know how, and I'd feel really bad about asking her to pay a lot of money for my haircut. It's really bad right now- shoulder length and very frizzy I want to wear it down but I can't because of how terrible it looks. What should I do?
