My mom sprays DDT on cooking vessels-- right or wrong?

Yesterday my mom sprayed DDT over a large number of cooking vessels which I found unhygienic and dangerous...she claimed that washing it with soap and water would remove the poison and make them safe to eat from again....I don't think this is the case, particles of it must remain and could easily be bended into the food while cooking.

She does this quiet often and each time I try to tell her that it is dangerous and poisonous she says I have "psychological issues" and am eccentric.

Am I over reacting in this?
It isn't a fake question, but perhaps I misspoke, it was bug spray....which I perceive as equally poisonous.
