My Mazda Miata's two front wheels keep squeaking on first gear. It doesn't

squeak when I'm going fast or..? backing up. Any ideas? thx
I thought with worn brakes, it'll squeak when brakes are applied? This is not the case for me.
 
Have your brakes checked.

It sounds as though your brake pads are worn to the warning alert.

Brake pads now all have a little filament molded in that is just exactly the same length as the thickness of a pad that's due for replacement. When the pad wears to that thickness it exposes the filament and it rubs against the brake disc, making a sound like a fingernail on a blackboard.
