my Mazda m x 5 will not pick up when i accelerate and back fires through inlet...

...manifold it drives like it is ? sounds like it is firing on 3 cylinders as as any any idea's
 
check plugs, leads, coil pack, first
if ok check timing belt is ok, sometimes they can slip a tooth and upset all timing
lambda sensors can also cause over-fuelling
 
You likely have a burnt intake valve. It wouldn't run if ignition or cam timing was off far enough to backfire out the intake manifold.
A compression check should tell you..
