My mac book has been flashing black, is that bad?

I have been having small problems with my mac book pro, mainly because i believe i have too much stuff on it. I got a external hard drive to load all of my stuff onto. But its still running just as slow as before. I have plenty of free space so i know thats not the problem, and i just got this computer in Dec. Also on top of the other issues i have noticed that lately my screen has been blinking black. At first i thought it was just me. But i have noticed it more often now. Should i be worried. I mean this is a brand new computer should this really already be happening to it? its had the black flashes at least five times now. Every one i know that just bought their mac are not having any issues. So Please Help Me..!

Bring it to the Genius Bar, Macs are not perfect, you might fall on a lemon once in while, thankfully Apple support is one of the best so schedule an appointment and go see them.
