I've had my lovebird for only about a week now, he's 3 months old, I got him off a breeder.
He never bites or gets mean. But he won't let me hold him. I understand he's not used to me yet. But for about 3 days after I got him, he let me hold him more then he does now. He would even sleep on my shoulder or just sit there while I walk around. But now anytime I even walk towards the cage, he freaks out & jumps all around his cage to get away from me. And when I do pick him up, he'll sit there for a minute on my finger, but then he'll fly right back to his cage. What confuses me the most is that he acts like he WANTS me to hold him! If I'm asleep or I leave the room, he'll start chirping till I wake up or walk back in the room. But then when I walk to his cage, he gets scared again. I dont understand. Also, he wont play with any of his toys. He has such a nice cage with so many toys & treats. But he wont touch any of them. I try to get him out alot to get him more used to me. But can someone please tell me why he liked me at first but doesnt now? And why doesnt he play? Please help me!
