My LG DVD player just stopped working. Help!?

I started watching a dvd and the player just turned itself off. I turned it back on, and it lasted about twenty seconds and turned itself off again. I checked the plugs and the power point etc but to no avail. Then i managed to turn it back on but then it froze on "hello" which is the message it gives me.

Any advice?
 
i think u might have inserted a damaged DVD.or else check the player by opening it.
 
How old is it?
How much was it?

If your answer is at least one year old and under $100...

I would just replace it.

Now you can buy disk cleaners or even just use a can of air to clean the dust out but.... electronics just tend to fail sometimes.
