My lever pulled out of the sink?

I wanted the sink to hold some whater so i pulled up on the middle lever for my sink to plug up the hole with the stopper and it pulled all the way out and now i have to manually pull out my stopper and the lever is doing nothing i can pull it out now and its just loose, is this an easy fix? please help
